Meet The Staff

  • Cory Kaufman: Owner & Lead Instructor of The Golf Academy

Cory's philosophy is to create a repeatable and efficient point of impact. He achieves this by testing for any physical strengths and limitations, then design a golf swing that is tailored to each athlete. Before he began to concentrate solely on his teaching career, he played competitively on various professional circuits including the Nationwide Tour and E-Golf Tour. In 2008 he finished 7th on the E-Golf Tour's money list with four top 5 finishes. Since focusing on instruction he has gained a very unique certification. He has become one of only 56 Plane Truth Golf Instructors in the world and the only in the state of Kentucky.

  • Colby Wollitz: Director of Player Development

Colby is a member of the PGA of America and since turning professional, has won multiple Sectional PGA events, was medalist in a U.S. Open Local Qualifier, and competed in the 2012 PGA Professional National Championship. He believes that there is no perfect golf swing, only a series of acceptable positions that WILL change from player to player. Most of these positions are based on the students body type, and many swing flaws are caused by poor set-up. Thus, when he works with a student he first determines how their body is programed to work and then work on establishing a set-up that fits that individual. He also believes that a student must learn how to transfer what they practice on the range to the golf course, which can be quite difficult in some cases. Because of this, he enjoys working on the mental side of the game as much as he does the golf swing itself. Colby is the owner of the Louisville Golf Academy. 2016 Kentucky PGA Youth Player Development Award Recipient
